Cultural Visits

The classes had more visits this week to learn about different countries and their cultures. P2 and P3 both learnt about life in America, how big it is and about the pledge of allegiance. Thank you to Tori and Russell Minnick for their very interesting powerpoint and delicious homemade pumpkin pie.

P1 then got to learn all about life in Mexico and how to speak some Spanish which was a great start for the Spanish lessons they will be getting in term 3. Thank you to Izzy Boyd for teaching them how to make playdough tortillas and how to do a Spanish dance.

Raffle for the Hospice

We have raised a little more money for the Hospice who looked after Mrs Pierce. Fitness Freddy very kindly donated some items for us to raffle off. The children paid £1 for a ticket and these were the winners. We raised another £176 and had some very happy winners.

Real life Science

Our pond at the back of the school had disappeared as all the water had seeped away, and the poor frogs had laid their eggs on pretty much dry ground. Mr Lewis rescued some frogspawn and our caretaker, Mr Anton, set about restoring the pond. A new liner was put in and stones and rocks all returned. Mr Anton then managed to find a way using hoses, pipes and gravity to get water from the tap in the nursery to the pond. The children loved watching it all happen.
