Tuesday 6th February was Safer Internet Day. Mr Shephard took assembly last explaining that it was coming up and what the theme was - 'inspiring change, making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online.'
On Tuesday all the classes did activities to highlight the day and to think carefully how to stay safe online while being able to enjoy all the benefits and fun aspects.
Charity Event - Fitness Freddy
Our chosen charity this year is 'Angel Wishes' as we know what great work they do for children with cancer.
On Monday we had Fitness Freddy in school and he took all the children from Nursery - Primary 7 through their paces with fun and entertaining song and dance routines. The children were sponsored to put forward their best dance moves and so far have raised about £1600. Thank you to all the children who took part and to everyone who sponsored them.
As we approached half term the PTA organised a half term disco on Thursday. Everyone arrived very excited, in fabulous outfits, ate lots of sweets and danced the night away! Thanks to the PTA members for providing the fun.
The P2 childern have really been enjoying their 'Castles' topic, especially dressing up as princesses, knights and dragons in the role play area. They had a home project to design and make their own castle. There were some fabulous designs including turrets, moats and working drawbridges! This afternoon they invited their parents to come in and see the finsihed projects and explain how they made them. The afternoon was completed with 2 entertaining poems/songs performed by the children. Thanks for all the effort from the children and parents.
