In P2 we are learning lots of new things. We love our playtime, where we are able to independently choose from a range of carefully set up activities that link to what we have been learning about. Our teacher is Mr Green and our classroom assistant is Miss Keery. The topics we cover in P2 are:
- Polar Animals
- People who Help Us
- The Farm
- The Seaside and Holidays
Have a look at what we have been up to...
We were very busy at home completing a home learning project on castles. We loved bringing them into school and showing them to each other, then when we celebrated our P2 Castles Day, we had the chance to let our parents come in and see all the castles we made.
As part of our castle topic, we decided to have a banquet. We agreed that the food at our banquet should be pizza, which we all really enjoyed!
In P2 we love going out in trips. To finish off our Autumn topic we took a stroll around Lady Dixon park, where we were able to see all the different signs of Autumn up close.
We have been using literacy and story books to explore more of our topic. We had great fun smelling all sorts of different smells....some nice, some not so nice.
We also have lots of time practising our phonics and writing skills during literacy time.
We have used the outdoors to help learn about 2D shape. We also earned how to make and use tallies to help us record the shapes that we found.
In PE we have been learning about fundamental movement and improving our climbing balancing and co-ordination.
We use ICT as a way to showcase our learning. This term we have used Pic Collage and the computers in the ICT suite to provided work based on living and non-living things.
We enjoy our weekly Spanish sessions. Here we get to learn a new language through lots of songs and games.
